LIVE-IN HOUSEKEEPER
An enthusiastic person is required to live-in and assist me to run Adelaide Beaches Holiday Villas at West Beach in Adelaide's beautiful beach suburbs. There are three townhouses - I live in one and rent the other 2 to holiday guests.
You must be reliable, meticulous, practical and able to work with minimum supervision. You must be able to speak english fluently and hold an Australian drivers licence. Your own reliable vehicle would be an advantage, but is not mandatory. You must have the right to work in Australia, hold a tax file number or an ABN and a police clearance.
The villas are a non-smoking environment, so this job may not suit someone who smokes.
Duties include:
- cleaning of 2 villas used by holiday guests on their departure
- set up of the holiday villas ready for guests including making beds and setting up the kitchen and bathroom supplies
- laundry of guests bed linen and towels
- greeting guests
- household cleaning for the villa that we live in
- putting out and bringing in rubbish bins and recycle bins
- collecting mail from post office
This is mostly a Monday-Friday job with occasional weekend work depending on when guests are leaving and arriving. It takes approximately 15 hours per week to maintain the villas to the high standard that our guests expect. You will be required to work between 10am and 3pm on the days that guests depart or arrive, so this job is not suitable for someone who has other part-time work during these times or studies.
I travel frequently and from time to time, I will be away overnight, so it's important that you will feel comfortable being alone in the villas and taking care of the guests and my pet while I am away.
The salary is $240 per week ($16 per hour) + 9% superannuation + holiday pay + accommodation. You pay for your own food. The accommodation that is provided is your own room and bathroom in my beautiful, beachfront home. There is no room for storage of furniture other than in your own room. The bedroom can be provided either furnished or unfurnished.
My dog is a small shitzu-fox terrier, so you must be a pet lover and have no pets of your own.
For the right person, there is plenty of room to expand this job so that it includes assisting with marketing using this website and other websites that specialise in holiday accommodation, accounting using MYOB and management of the business including taking bookings and payments from guests, updating calendars and managing tradespeople and handimen. This extra work would mean that the part-time hours could increase if you are able to take on extra duties.
